GSAK2iPhone

GSAK2iPhone converts and optimizes the HTML output from GSAK (Geocaching Swiss Army Knife) so that is better viewable on Apple’s iPhone. I wrote this Tool for my own because I love Geocaching and my iPhone. But browsing www.geocaching.com over edge is really horrible, these pages are so huge and you can wait, wait and wait. The HTML pages exported by GSAK are much faster but they are not optimized and you have to zoom and move very much. So the idea for this tool was born. And here it is for everyone who wants to use it.
After the files were optimized you can either upload them to a webserver or you can copy them to your iPhone. I tried some AppStore tools “Air Sharing” and “Datacase” but both aren’t able to handle so many files. Copying is absolutely slow, slower than uploading with my 128k DSL line. But there is another option:
If you have a jailbreaked iPhone you need the Safari patch for viewing local files (file://…) and a SCP (WinSCP) tool to copy the files to your iPhone. This is very fast and you can view the files wherever you are.
Installation
Just click on the badge to install it and have fun:
– Beta Version –
The Adobe AIR runtime is needed (Available for Mac.OSX, Windows and Linux):
Usage
Just click the plus button, browse to your export directory, click add. In the list view you can convert, view and delete your directory settings. Deleting just deletes the item from the list, not the directory on the harddrive.
